If deployment drives you crazy... sing (or pretend to anyway!)

Whoa! It's been a minute since I've been on the blog!

Life has been BUSY! Mister is off on another deployment, we settled into the summer and then I had 3 different (minor) surgeries. All is well! Managed to travel a few times and then recently we started up homeschool again! Yes... AGAIN.

I have been settling into a new, yet familiar schedule, in the house. Prepping for the fall and the quickly approaching winter. Yikes! We are still not sure yet when my husband will be told he can come home. It could be any day now, or we find out that he will be gone until far into next year. So for now, we busy ourselves trying not to worry about what we can't control. Keeping the kids' needs met, minds occupied, conversations flowing and my "motherly intuition" in tact.

Although I hate spending money on myself, I have found a massage therapist in the area who specializes in Craniosacral therapy. So, twice a month I go in for an hour of therapy followed by an hour long swedish massage. And yes... it takes me the entire two hours to realize it's OK for me to lay there, be quiet, and do nothing. Of course, then he leaves the room and says "I'll see you upstairs for your receipt." Lame. But on the flip side, I do feel like I'm doing something for myself and we all know that if we don't take care of ourselves, we can't take care of anyone else.

On the weekends I have been taking online photography classes to add to what I used to know when I had my own business. I'm learning how to streamline my workflow so everything is more efficient, and how to re-use my favorite programs all over again (updates are a doozy!) Love photography though. On another post, I will post some images that I have done or am working on. It feels good to be pushing myself to learn more.

That's it in a nutshell! It's been a year since our last lip-sync deployment video... so here's our 2015 remix! Enjoy!
